As our production needs ramp up, we find ourselves in need of some extra hands on our packaging lines! Read below for details and information on how to apply.



PACKAGING ASSISTANTS

We're looking for Packaging Assistants to work on our packaging lines at our Northeast Minneapolis brewery as well as our satellite facility in Fridley, MN. These individuals will work as part of a team on our canning, kegging, and/or 12-packing lines helping to ensure that our product meets all necessary quality standards prior to shipment. Attention to detail and a passion for high-quality craft beer are musts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs
  • Ability to maneuver and occasionally lift 160lbs
  • Ability to adhere to multiple SOPs in order to maintain quality control
  • Availability Monday-Friday. Both AM and PM shifts will be available.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Brewery experience preferred
  • Experience with beer quality control or sensory analysis training a plus

    Pay Type: Hourly

    Supervisor(s): Packaging Lead

    Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Required

    Minimum Experience: Brewery or Beverage Packaging, and Warehousing experienced is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate

    Age Requirement: 21 years or older

    Hello! As our production needs begin to ramp up, we are hiring for couple different positions within our brewery. Check the description below for more details and information on how to apply.

    PACKAGING LEAD/OPERATOR

    This position performs managerial, technical, and operational functions related to the packaging process.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reports to Lead Brewer
    • Works with Lead Brewer and Director of Operations to set weekly packaging schedule, and adheres to packaging schedule
    • Packages all package styles, maintaining high quality.
    • Knows what constitutes inferior product, understands and upholds quality standards in place.
    • Escalates quality issues to the Lead Brewer immediately.
    • Loads all packaging machines/equipment with raw materials, and maintains end-of-line raw material pars.
    • Knows where all raw materials are stored, and is familiar with general layout of brewery.
    • Knows about opening, closing, and cleaning/CIP standard operating procedures for packaging machines/equipment
    • Performs can seam checks, as required by canning SOP, and performs seamer adjustments, as necessary
    • Performs DO checks, as required by canning SOP
    • Performs 12oz/16oz changeovers on canning line
    • Replaces filler tubing per PM schedule
    • Operates basic controls of all machines/equipment
    • Reads and understands end-of-line packaging production numbers.
    • Reads and understands all package styles posted in production schedule.
    • Communicates production numbers in real time.
    • Stores cold and warm archives for sensory evaluation in appropriate locations.
    • Reports issues with any machine/equipment to others immediately.
    • Assists in solving problems with machines/equipment.
    • Performs end-of-line opening procedures, with assistance.
    • Explains the basics of CO2, DO and their role in packaging.
    • Operates DO testing equipment in the cellar, without supervision.
    • Has a solid understanding of end-of-day production sheets.
    • Records numbers on packaging sheets.
    • Assists packaging technician with operation of the keg line during production.
    • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment.
    • Wears necessary PPE.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs other brewery duties as required or assigned

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Mechanical aptitude a must
    • Ability to work independently and with a team
    • Ability to work in high-paced, high-pressure situations/environments
    • Strong attention to detail

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Must have the ability to frequently to lift 50lbs to shoulder height, and push or pull 160 lbs. Must be able to work in an environment that is sometimes loud, and requires standing, climbing, bending, for long periods of time. Late evening shifts may periodically be required.

    PATIO AND INSIDE NOW OPEN! Carefully read the ever-so-important details here:

    RESERVATIONS:

    • Must be made in advance via OpenTable, which can be made HERE. No more than 4 to a table, 6 if family.
    • Reservations will be in 90 minute increments. This is the best way for staff to manage guests and ensure top-notch cleanliness. After 80 minutes, taproom staff will announce turnover, and at that point guests will exit the patio and our staff will wipe down all tables, benches, chairs and menus.
    • Reservation times will be increased to 120 increments starting Monday, June 22nd.
    • Please do not enter the taproom until your reservation time - this is to maximize work flow and ensure social distancing. Proceed through the taproom doors to check in when you arrive. Exit will be out the patio.

    CANCELLATION POLICY: As a small business operating in 2020, we can't afford no-shows. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations made within 24 hours/no-shows will be charged $15 on the credit card provided. $5 of that will go towards Restore North, a fundraiser helping Northside Minneapolis businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19 and the recent uprising.

    MASKS: Haus guests are required to have masks and wear them when interacting with staff, going to the bathroom, or visiting the food truck (also, if you’re planning to safely imbibe, Uber/Lyft require ‘em!).

    SOCIAL DISTANCING: Guests must observe social distancing guidelines, leaving 6 feet apart from other patrons, with no wandering around the patio.

    ORDERING MORE BEER: To allow distancing, avoid queuing up behind the bar. Wait for people to order and sit back down before leaving your table.

    BUS YOUR TABLE: Please place your glassware in the bins provided.

    DOGGOS AND KIDS: Allowed, but MUST be kept at the table at all times…or else.

    WHEN IT’S TIME TO GO: It’s time to go (no negotiating or loitering!). Kindly exit out the NW corner of the patio.

    NORMAL HAUS RULES APPLY: Don’t smoke on our patio. Enjoy your drinks responsibly and respectfully.Most of all, be kind to our staff and the rest of our guests. Uncool/unkind behavior of any variety will not be tolerated.

    DON’T BE A DINGUS: Anyone exhibiting symptoms of sickness or failing to abide be any of these rules will be prohibited from entering or asked to leave.Anyone not following these guidelines will be asked to leave immediately.
