It is with great pleasure that we introduce to everyone Lounge Wizard Juicy Pale Ale as the newest member of our core lineup of beers. Lounge Wizard will hit the Twin Cities market in April, replacing Wagon Party West Coast-Style Lager.

After several months of honing the Lounge Wizard recipe in our taproom through our new Haus Curiosities program, we knew we landed on something special. For those not familiar, our Haus Curiosity program is comprised of beers that are released every other Friday as limited-quantity, taproom-only exclusives. We launched this program to not only serve as a playground for its brewers to experiment with new recipes, but also as a loyalty program for taproom customers. After an overwhelmingly positive response to early versions of Lounge Wizard, we were eager to bring it to a wider audience of beer drinkers. It’s no secret that beer drinkers are clamoring for this style. The juicy/hazy style is a really exciting space for us to play in right now, and it’s become obvious that it’s not just a passing trend.

Lounge Wizard showcases juicy hop flavors and aromas reminiscent of pungent tropical fruit and candied citrus. The beer has a soft, pillowy texture and a pleasantly dry finish. With an ABV of 5.2% and an 40 IBUs, Lounge Wizard maintains the signature drinkability inherent in our beers. What we can only describe as a “leisure suit for your mouth”, we are channeling our particular brand of brewing alchemy and hop magicks into the name as much as into the beer itself.

To make way for Lounge Wizard, we will be bidding a fond farewell to Wagon Party. After five years of service, Wagon Party is being sent off with a proper Celebration of Life at Bauhaus’ Northeast Minneapolis taproom on Thursday, March 28th. Attendees can expect a formal eulogy, limited edition “Party Like it’s 1849” t-shirts, and $3 pints of Wagon Party.

SEE YOU THERE!

Despite the four feet of snow on the ground, we’re officially welcoming back Short Pants Lemon Shandy this week! Short Pants proved to be a universal crowd-pleaser in 2018, even amongst the most skeptical of beer-drinkers, so we’re thrilled to usher it back and delight even more beer drinkers in 2019.

Clocking in at 4.5% and 15 IBU, this crisp, thirst-quenching, lemony ale is brewed with wheat and natural lemon ingredients. Essentially a beer cocktail, a shandy typically consists of a relatively neutral base beer with added juice or concentrate. Unlike other shandies on the market, we use natural lemon products such as lemon zest, lemon concentrate, and lemon puree to provide a more authentic, handcrafted shandy that doesn’t taste artificial or sugary sweet.

To make sure thirsts are sufficiently quenched through the warmer months, Short Pants Lemon Shandy will be available from now through August. Starting now, it will be on tap in our Northeast MPLS taproom and available in both 6- and 12-packs of 12 oz cans at liquor stores throughout MN. You can expect to find Short Pants running rampant on draft lines at rooftop bars, golf courses, and patios across the state all Summer long!
