We are proud to announce that we will be the first Minnesota brewery in nearly 100 years to produce and sell a non-alcoholic beer with the release of a non-alcoholic version of Homeguys Helles Lager. Over the past few months, we've been working with St. Paul-based upstart ABV Technology on creating a craft, flavor-forward NA beer option for our taproom. The team behind ABV Technology has developed a proprietary, patent-pending process that extracts ethanol from beer in a way that leaves the overall flavor profile mostly intact. The result? A product smells and tastes remarkably similar to the real deal!

What's wild is that Minnesota hasn’t seen a locally-crafted non-alcoholic beer since the days of Prohibition. We see a very cool opportunity in bringing an NA option to the table not only because no other Minnesota brewery is currently producing one, but because there seems to be a growing interest among consumers for lower ABV and NA drinks.

Many of you reading this know that there are plenty of people who want to either cut back or eliminate alcohol completely, but they still want to go out and enjoy the experience and kinship of sharing a pint among their friends. Our company philosophy is built around the idea of inclusivity, so creating a welcoming environment for patrons seeking something other than an alcoholic beverage is incredibly important to us.

According to Beverage Daily, the NA beer and wine category is expected to grow by nearly 8% over the next 5 years. According to the team at ABV, "The time has come for NA craft beer. ABV Technology is thrilled to be developing technology to enable craft brewers to make great tasting NA beer and participate in this category.” says CEO Kurt Koppelman.

Starting Wednesday, December 19th, the NA version of Homeguys Helles Lager will be available year round at our Northeast Minneapolis taproom. The NA version of this refreshing true-to-style Münich Helles is brewed with 100% German-grown malt and hops. While Homeguys is a malt-centric brew, a small amount of Huell Melon finishing hops provide just a hint of ripe melon and bright berry on the nose.

Frohe Feiertage, Hauslers!

Party season is officially in sight and with that, Winterloper Baltic Porter is making its glorious return. We unleashed this smooth and silky Christmas miracle in the form of 16 oz. tallboy cans last year, and once again, we're elated to deliver these festively wrapped packages to a liquor store near you.

Based on traditional beers from countries near the Baltic Sea, Winterloper is derived from English porters but influenced by Russian Imperial Stouts. It serves a rich blend of malt flavors expressing caramel and dried fruit with a smooth, roasty finish. A strong, jet-black lager beer that’s just as easy and refreshing to drink as any of our brews, Winterloper is truly the perfect blanket to throw on as we welcome hibernation season (8.0% ABV | 35 IBU).

Little presents in and of themselves, 16 oz. 4-packs are perfect for gift-giving and will be available at select stores throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin as well as on tap at fine bars and restaurants and Bauhaus' Northeast Minneapolis taproom.

Alongside the return of Winterloper, we’re kicking off the holidays with our 5th Annual Made By Hands Holiday Sale, on Saturday, November 24th and Sunday, November 25th from 12pm to 6pm. Beer lovers and holiday shoppers alike can scope out unique gifts, support local artists and sip some delicious brews all at once. A heated tent will be set up on our spacious patio to allow for prime shopping and sipping.

From our weird family to yours, we hope you have a wonderful and safe Holiday season!

We are thrilled to announce that our Homeguys Helles Lager is now widely available in 12-oz cans. Homeguys started out as a taproom-only beer, but quickly became a fan and employee favorite. After numerous requests to offer this light and easy brew in cans, we decided to finally package it.

Our classic, true-to-style Münich Helles is brewed with 100% German-grown malt and hops, and might just be the easiest drinking brew we’ve ever made. Truly a beer for everyone, Homeguys clocks in at a crushable 4.7% making it perfect brew for all of your tailgating, socializing, binge-watching, post-hunting, leaf-raking, and – dare we say – snow-shoveling needs. While Homeguys is a malt-centric brew, we added some Magnum hops for a clean, subtle bitterness along with some Huell Melon finishing hops that provide just a hint of ripe melon and bright berry on the nose.

The idea of breaking bread (and in our case, beer) with friends is what inspired the Homeguys video spot. We hope this conjures up feelings of Gemütlichkeit as beer drinkers everywhere make room at the table for all their Homeguys at upcoming fall and winter celebrations.

Schwandtoberfest, our 100% true-to-style German märzen, is back for the FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW.

At 5.7% ABV and 27 IBUs, the harmony between rich, toasty malt and a crisp, balanced hop profile is what makes this a true Bauhaus masterpiece and an annual customer favorite. Mandarina Bavaria hops impart a soft, floral hop aroma of tangerine and orange blossom and the pour is a burnished orange. Schwandtoberfest will be available in 16-oz. tallboy cans across the Twin Cities and outstate markets, in the taproom, and on tap at select establishments. To cap fest season off properly, we'll be throwing our Fifth Annual Schwandtoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 29th from 12-11pm. Expect gigantic steins of beer, German fare, a slew of games and a handful of stellar musical acts. More details coming soon, but for now partygoers can save the date here.

Amigos! We are crazy excited to introduce to you Short Pants Lemon Shandy. This exceptional beer will not only take us through the end of Short Pants season, but will hopefully, magically, turn this wintry mix into unending days of sunshine.

Clocking in at 4.5% and 15 IBU, this crisp, thirst-quenching, delicious, lemony ale is brewed with wheat and natural lemon ingredients.Essentially a beer cocktail, a shandy typically consists of a relatively neutral base beer with added juice or concentrate.Unlike other shandies on the market, we use natural lemon products such as lemon zest, lemon concentrate, and lemon puree to provide a more authentic, handcrafted shandy that doesn’t taste artificial or sugary sweet.

To make sure thirsts are sufficiently quenched through the warmer months, Short Pants Lemon Shandy will be available from April through August. Starting Monday, April 2nd, it will be on tap in our Northeast MPLS taproom and available in both 6- and 12-packs of 12 oz cans at liquor stores throughout MN and WI. You can expect to find Short Pants running rampant on draft lines at rooftop bars and patios across the state all Summer long.
