The Liquid Zoo 2017

Hang on to your beers and brace yourself for the most epic weekend of the year at The Haus. It's Liquid Zoo time, party peeps. The Liquid Zoo is an epic, three-day celebration of life, art and beer that unites the community of NE Minneapolis and the people of the Twin Cities at large. Presented by Down In The Valley, Revival, Parlour Bar, and 89.3The Current, The Liquid Zoo is where best-in-class musicians, artists and food & beverage purveyors collide, igniting an unforgettable experience in which attendees can revel in local & national talent in the company of their friends & community. Friday


Bauhaus will start Art-A-Whirl weekend with a Kick-Off Party Spectacular, where the best eats, drinks and funky grooves in Northeast will collide. Two of the Twin Cities’ finest restaurants, Revival and Parlour, will be providing a selection of their signature dishes in the form of pop-up restaurants off the Bauhaus patio and fresh beer will be available at multiple points throughout the taproom, patio and front parking lot.Nightlights' feel-good Pop and 90’s R&B jamz will get the party popping, and the gravity-defying, genre-bending funk and rock superstars Viva Knievel will burn the place down. It will be a dance party that brings a little bit of everything to concert goers. Down in the Valley will also be under the tent in the parking lot slinging vintage, new, and used wax, among other music paraphernalia, all night long.

Saturday
Following Friday evening’s festivities, Bauhaus will continue the party in the massive front parking lot to host an all-day concert. Bauhaus has curated a stellar mix of local and national music acts:

Down in the Valley will be back with their pop-up music shop for the entirety of the event, Northmade Co will be selling rad and unique northern-inspired apparel and Dogwood Coffee Company will be invigorating the crowd with hot & cold coffee options. Additional beer stations will make getting a cold one easy for attendees and the food-spread will be plentiful with Revival, Parlour, and a variety of additional food trucks.

Sunday
The weekend culminates on Sunday, May 21st with a Made By Hands Art & Crafts Extra-Vaganza from 12pm-6pm. Artists and craftsmen will be selling everything from paintings, jewelry, woodworkings, sweets, knits, ceramics and more. The Sea Wolf Tattoo Company will return with a pop-up tattoo shop featuring some classic Americana-style beer tattoos created specifically for The Liquid Zoo. DJ Shane Kramer of Transmission Music will be playing an assortment of wax on the tables all day, and Down in the Valley will be bringing a treasure trove of rare and vintage vinyl to get in on the action. Revival, Parlour and Dogwood will be on site to provide top-notch nourishment throughout the day.

Copperpop Returns

We’re thrilled to announce the return of Copperpop, our spring Seasonal Curiosity. The annual Copperpop release is exciting not only because of its delicious drinkability, but also because it means that patio season is almost within reach. But even when Minnesota can’t quite decide what to do with itself, Copperpop is still a welcome departure from the heavier beers of winter. Inspired by the red lagers of Ireland, this hoppy, crisp, exceptionally refreshing beer is the perfect treat for the forthcoming observance of St. Patrick’s Day and – let’s face it – virtually every other occasion you can think of. But in order to fully appreciate this brew, we’ve taken the liberty of showing you how to best enjoy a Copperpop with this instructional video:

Clocking in at 5.6% ABV, Copperpop is a drier, hoppier version of the traditional, malt-centric Irish red lagers. A nice spot of German rye malt gives this beer a dry, earthy spice that perfectly compliments the piney, citrusy hop profile.

Copperpop is hitting shelves and taps next week. It’s making an early debut, however, at Keegan’s Irish Pub in Northeast Minneapolis this Friday, March 10th, in the form of $3 pints. Come toast Keegan’s 15th Anniversary, meet the Bauhaus lads and keep your glass while supplies last. Starting on Monday, March 13th, 16-oz. tallboy cans will be available across the Twin Cities and other outstate markets, and will also be on draft at Bauhaus’ taproom and at select establishments around the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.

We’re on the prowl for a handful of Brand Ambassadors to help us with tastings & events AND a few Beertenders to help us take on what’s sure to be our busiest summer yet. If you’re a gregarious individual with relevant experience, we’d love for you to apply at one of our upcoming Job Fairs.


Role: Brand Ambassador

We are seeking a handful of super-outgoing, beer-savvy individuals to represent Bauhaus Brew Labs at various tastings and special events across the Twin Cities and other markets around the metro. With 2-4 tastings or events a month, this role would wonderfully complement an existing full-time job or course load. To join the Bauhaus family (and GET PAID TO TALK ABOUT BEER) you must:

  • Be 21 years old or older
  • Have a passion for craft beer
  • Have customer service experience and a strong love for the human race and interacting with them
  • Have reliable means of transportation to get to tastings and events in a punctual fashion
  • Be willing to work evenings and weekends (sometimes on a short notice)
  • Have the stamina to stand for long periods of time

Role: Beertender (Seasonal & Part Time Opportunities)

We’re looking for a few beertenders with world class customer service skills and serving experience to join our team of tenders as soon as this Spring. To qualify, you must….

  • Be 21 years or older
  • Have a passion for craft beer
  • Have service industry experience and a strong love for the human race and interacting with them
  • Have experience giving exceptional customer service in fast-paced, high-volume bar environments
  • Be able to stand/walk for up to 10 hours
  • Have a proven record of cooperation in a team-based work environment
  • Have consistent availability on Saturdays throughout the summer and for three main tentpole events 5/19-22,7/16, 9/30

  • Where: Bauhaus Brew Labs Taproom
  • When: Monday 3/13 from 6-8pm and Thursday, 3/16 from 12-2pm
  • What to expect: Meet & mingle with 3 - 5 different Bauhaus managers across variouis aspects of the business (sales, marketing and taproom management)
  • What to bring: Your resume and a 2-3 minute verbal presentation on something you’re passionate about. Your favorite beer, your love of tacos, most noteworthy dentist visit, etc..



It's time to get weird, Hauslers! Our latest Seasonal Curiosity, Über Düber 2017, is making this year's debut starting Monday, 2/6. While the original idea was to make Über Düber a different, experimental style each year, last year’s Imperial Sparkling Ale was SO good and so well received that we kept the same style, but just evolved it a bit.

This year’s Über Düber is still the effervescent, golden daydream of yesteryear, but boasts new hop varieties that take the notion of vacation-in-a-glass to a whole new level. Aussie hop cultivars give off a luxurious tropical bouquet of pineapple, papaya, passionfruit, and mandarin orange. With a medium body and a clean, dry finish, this imperial-strength ale is a super düper midwinter treat. 8.0% ABV | 60 IBU.

Nothing says midwinter treat like 15 morphsuit-clad men taking to the streets of Minneapolis. Here’s a dose of Über Düber weirdness from the Bauhaus family.

Über Düber 2017 will be available in 750 mL bottles at select stores throughout Minnesota, and on tap at fine bars & restaurants as well as at Bauhaus' Northeast Minneapolis taproom.

It might be the middle of the Polar Vortex around these parts but we're slipping on our shades and warming up with a Double Alt that goes by Beechballer.


Beechballer Double Alt is beer #2 in our Over The Charts series and is a big, peppy winter lager. It's an imperial version of German altbier, aka alt. Alt (literally, “old” in German) and is characterized by an amber to light copper color, clean yet robust maltiness, moderate hop bitterness and a crisp, dry finish. Beechballer plays on all of those characteristics, but boasts an 8.3% ABV and a slightly elevated hoppiness featuring classic German hops. In addition, we used our Haus lager yeast to ferment this beer. The result is a warming beer with a complex malt character and peppy, flowery hops in the finish.

We took the liberty of adding a small percentage of beechwood smoked malt in this bee, hence, the Beechballer name. Beechwood smoked malt is a relatively mild smoked malt that when used in small quantities provides a subtle, smoky malt complexity to a given beer.

Given the Beechballer name and the current state of weather, we couldn't help but channel a certain 1986 volleyball scene to promote this puppy:
