Introducing Slawhammer: A Down Home Collaboration Beer with Revival

Hey y'all! We are ECSTATIC to announce the unveiling of a unique, Southern-inspired collaboration beer with Revival restaurant – a truly special beer that will make its debut at Revival’s new US Bank Stadium location as well as their brick-and-mortar restaurants in coming weeks. The specialty brew is a pre-prohibition Kentucky Common Style Ale that goes by the name of Slawhammer.
For those of you who don't know, we pride ourselves on brewing beers that pair well with food, and Slawhammer is no exception. Brewed specifically to temper the heat of Revival’s fiery Tennessee hot chicken, Slawhammer is a bit like a cream ale but with a little more malty soulfulness; it’s an easy-drinking brew with just a touch of hoppy citrus and black tea in the finish. Clocking in at 4.8% ABV and a mild 25 IBUs, it's the perfect thirst quencher for Revival's spectacular Southern fare, and let’s be honest, these 16-oz. stunners are going to look right nice in the hands of stadium-goers.
Brewing Slawhammer brought head brewer and Bauhaus Brew Labs President Matt Schwandt back to the days he spent in the South. “When I lived in Nashville, I learned that there are really only two beverage options for Tennessee hot chicken: sweet tea or a cold beer. So we figured, why not marry those ideas?” Vice President Lydia Haines explains, “While it’s not a sweet beer, Slawhammer has that amber iced tea color and some black tea notes from the finishing hops.”
“We are thrilled about the partnership,” says Revival Co-Owner Nick Rancone. “Revival is all about tradition and modernity, and that is the same way we view Bauhaus. It's so important to align with people that you respect and adore, and share values with, and it was most excellent that this collaboration came to fruition in the way that it did. Starting August 10th, Slawhammer will be available in 16-oz. tallboy cans at the Revival US Bank Stadium location, and on draft at Revival’s brick-and-mortar locations in both Minneapolis and St. Paul and at their sister restaurant, Corner Table.
